Becky Calzada

Becky Calzada, MLIS, is the library services coordinator in Leander ISD, a fast-growth district just northwest of Austin, TX. She earned her bachelor's in elementary education from Texas A&M University, Kingsville and her masters in library and information science from the University of Texas, Austin. Calzada was a co-moderator of #TXLChat, a Twitter chat forum helping Texas (and other) librarians build PLN's and share ideas and resources while expanding professional networks. She was Texas Library Association-School Library Division Past Chair and has served as a board member of the Leander ISD Educational Excellence Foundation and as the Region 6 Director for AASL. She is currently an AASL Director at Large and is an advisory member of The Center for the Future of Libraries Advisory Group for ALA.
