ALA Honors Carolyn Foote and Judi Moreillon

SLC Advisory Board Members Carolyn Foote and Judi Moreillon have been recognized by the American Library Association (ALA) for their outstanding contributions to school librarianship. Carolyn Foote has been named the recipient of the 2019 AASL Collaborative School Library Award, which honors creative collaborations between librarians and teachers (press release). Judi Moreillon has received the 2019 Scholastic Library Publishing Award for exemplary contributions to childhood literacy (press release).

About the Winners

Carolyn Foote is a techno-librarian at Westlake High School in Austin, Texas. She earned her master's at the University of Texas at Austin and has been a regular contributor to SLC. Judi Moreillon is a literacies and libraries consultant. She earned her master's in library science and her doctorate in education at the University of Arizona. She taught preservice school librarians for 21 years, and she has authored numerous books and articles for librarians and teachers.
