This book is about the journey of the monarch butterfly, starting with the butterfly as an egg. The story continues as the butterfly grows, goes on a journey, and ends up in a forest. Eventually the butterflies again travel on a path back to the United States. The descriptive language and colorful illustrations make this an enjoyable, short read. The last page covers basic information about monarch butterflies. Public and school librarians can use this book to spark discussions related to insect life cycles, and for supplementing the teaching of science concepts.
