Review

Author George Mann has woven together a series of short stories that enrich the universe that Star Wars fans have come to know and love. Recognizable characters such as the Sand People, the Sith, and a well-known Jedi, among others, lend a comfortable familiarity to the reading of each tale. Each story tells of the consequences of greed, hatred, jealousy, revenge, and betrayal that will resonate and feel familiar to its Earthly readers. Though the stories are brief, the language and vocabulary are complex and may be challenging for some readers. However, these stories do lend themselves well to read aloud opportunities. This book might be used by classroom teachers as a gateway to discussions centering around character and the consequences of misdeeds and misbehavior. Lush artwork accompanies each story and enriches the imagination of the reader. Star Wars fans young and old will appreciate the artistry and imagination of these other-worldly tales.
