A lot has changed since my days in the computer lab with KidPix, hasn't it? One of the most exciting developments in educational technology continues to be the empowerment of students, to take ownership, to create, and to participate, and not just follow along. As school librarians and educators, we are leaders, but we are also sharing that role with our students. If ever you're feeling overwhelmed at all there is to learn, maybe turn over some responsibility to your students. Even the youngest learners will likely have skills and ideas that may surprise you. With this instructional side of technology under your belt, maybe you're curious to learn about the administrative side of library technology. View the course, Technology Planning and Administration for the in's and out's of policies, networking, those student devices, and all the hardware and software tips a school librarian could ever want.
