About the Presenter

Nancy Evans, MLS, is the head of the young adult department at the Levittown Public Library in Levittown, New York. She earned her bachelor's from Queens College, New York, and her master's in library science from Queens College. She also holds an advanced certificate in public library administration from Palmer Graduate Library School, C.W. Post campus of Long Island University. She has presented her program "Strong Girls School" at PLA and ALA and won a Library Journal Mover and Shaker award in 2017. She is the author of the book Cultivating Strong Girls: Library Programming that Builds Self-Esteem and Challenges Inequality (Libraries Unlimited 2018).

When she is not working or writing, Nancy enjoys spending time with her family, practicing yoga, and of course reading.
