In this chapter, Stanley discusses technology trends related to digital research and their applications to student research, including crowdsourcing, social media, virtual and augmented reality, and wikis. Stanley also looks at trends in personalized learning, differentiation, global idea sharing, online or virtual learning, blended learning, flipped classrooms, open content, and authentic learning. Lastly, she examines types of literacies—transliteracy, data literacy, media literacy, source literacy—and important questions for librarians to consider in our evolving information landscape.
