Description: Montana offers three options to obtain a Library Media endorsement.
Evaluation Process for Licensure:
A Competency Review for eligible individuals is required.
Option one:
- If the candidate holds a current license from the NBPTS in a licensable area in Montana, a license will be awarded
- Completion and verification of the free, online course "An Introduction to Indian Education for All in Montana"
Option two:
- Graduated within the last five years from an accredited program
- Completion and verification of the free, online course "An Introduction to Indian Education for All in Montana"
Option three:
- The candidate has held a license within the last five years.
- Completion and verification of the free, online course "An Introduction to Indian Education for All in Montana"
Reciprocity: Yes, but one must meet the state's requirements for licensure. Montana follows the Interstate Agreement with the 50 states and the District of Columbia in the National Association of State Directors of Teacher Education & Certification (NASDEC).
