Teacher Licensure Needed: Yes

Master's Degree Needed: No

National Evaluation Series (AEPA/NES) tests: Library/Educational Media – passing score is 220.

Other Testing Needed: Yes, Professional Knowledge Exams – passing score 220.

Description: If you're interested in becoming a school librarian in the state of Arizona, you'll need a valid teaching license from the state of Arizona or another US State. Evaluation Process for Licensure:

Criteria for eligibility for the Library Media Specialist endorsement includes:

Prerequisite Certificate: A valid Arizona Elementary, Secondary, Early Childhood, or Special Education Certificate. -AND-

Teaching Experience: Verification of one year of full-time teaching experience. -AND-

Subject Knowledge Proficiency: One of the following:

Experience as a Library-Media Specialist in a foreign country does not meet this requirement.
