Student-Centered Virtual Events Promote Social Reading [16:39]

Video

During quarantine 2020-2021, the student book club leaders at Lincoln High School in Tacoma, Washington, worked with their teacher librarian, Kristin Fraga Sierra. In this video, Kristin details how they led their peers and other teens in the area and the Project Lit Community in engaging, creative, and fun literacy-centered virtual activities. They fundraised for books, volunteered to deliver books to local Little Free Libraries (https://www.thenewstribune.com/news/local/article245300100.html, https://youtu.be/-HJS_ErVymM), and led many book discussions. They planned and hosted student-centered virtual events through social media and Zoom (https://www.thenewstribune.com/news/local/news-columns-blogs/matt-driscoll/article243601997.html).
