After having the pleasure of getting to know him at a recent institute for librarianship, I was eager to sit down with New York school librarian Vincent Hyland to dive deeper into the relationship between inquiry and cultural responsiveness; particularly, how to cultivate a culturally responsive library that can help students broaden their perspectives, and deepen the understanding of the world around them. Enjoy this conversation, as Vincent shares his insights on how to both teach cultural responsiveness within the library space, and how we can embrace such a mindset more actively ourselves.
