This is an enchanting tale about wind. It starts with a boy asking, “Where do you live?” before he is taken on an international trip. The book features five different ways wind blows from all over the globe. The text is a form of poetry, but not rhyming. Readers view the story from a historical viewpoint with the Chinook winds and running bison, to the present day Shamal featuring tanks, military trucks, and a sand storm. Illustrations support the text and make the story even more dramatic. Each page has swirls that make the reader think about wind. This is a good book to present weather as a topic in a different way, reflecting wind via many different regions. The author includes a section and small world map at the end of the book explaining the different areas of the world interacting with wind. The text may be difficult for struggling readers, but it would appeal to primary grades and be a good addition to an elementary library.
