The mission of this resource is to "free people from filter bubbles so they can understand the world and each other." Educators and librarians teaching the topic of media literacy will find this to be a solid resource for discussing bias, balanced news, and the difference between fact and opinion in the media world. This website is a news aggregator that helps facilitate discussions and teaches essential skills related to inquiry, collaboration, critical thinking, and evaluation. Students and teachers can search for topics such as healthcare, gun rights, and immigration, and view current event articles from popular news sources from the left, right, and center in order to better understand media bias. The site provides its own bias ratings for the articles, which provides a helpful way for teachers to introduce the topic of bias to younger students. AllSides For Schools, a part of AllSides.com, is a free non-profit resource which schools can sign up for in order to receive more educator tools, lessons, and assessments, such as civil dialogue starters and individual teacher pages to post articles and discussions. This is a powerful resource that social studies, language arts, and school librarians will find invaluable for teaching media literacy and critical thinking skills.
